A student receiving doctoral allowance
As a doctoral student, if you receive a doctoral grant, you are entitled to health insurance (read more in the Study Allowances and Study Loans Act). Doctoral students who are not beneficiaries of doctoral allowance are insured as students. Data on the establishment of health insurance is provided by the Ministry of Education and Research.
Insurance will commence upon making the entry into the health insurance database.
Insurance terminates 1 month after the end of receiving the doctoral stipend.
You can check the validity of your health insurance in the service ‘My current account with the Health Insurance Fund’ of the state portal eesti.ee, by phoning the Health Insurance Fund’s customer service (+372) 669 6630.
