Conscripts
Conscripts and persons in alternative service are entitled to health insurance. Data is submitted to the Health Insurance Fund by the Defence Resources Agency and the Defence Forces.
Insurance will commence upon making the entry into the health insurance database.
Health insurance is terminated one month after release from conscription.
If a person released from conscription is not insured on any other basis under the Health Insurance Act, the Defence Forces must continue to pay the health insurance part of the social tax for two months from the day of release from conscription. In this case, the health insurance is still valid for three months after the end of the conscription service.
Data on the termination of insurance is submitted by the Defence Resources Agency and the Defence Forces.
You can check the validity of your health insurance in the service ‘My current account with the Health Insurance Fund’ of the state portal eesti.ee, by phoning the Health Insurance Fund’s customer service (+372) 669 6630.
